Planned path out of COVID-19 restrictions for vaccinated older Australians needed now
The Older Persons Advocacy Network and its members remain concerned about the local health service and aged care provider interpretations of visitation restrictions and ‘Stay at Home’ requirements, which are broader than those for other Australians and go against older people’s rights.
The rights of older people under the Charter of Aged Care Rights are clear. Older people have the right to maintain their independence (Right 9) and have control and make choices about their care, personal and social life, including where choices involve a personal risk (Right 7).
