The Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN), supports people to understand and exercise their aged care rights.
Older Persons Advocacy Network organisations support older people and their representatives, to raise and address issues relating to accessing, and interacting with aged care services funded by the Commonwealth.
All services are free, independent and confidential.
Older Persons Advocacy Network organisations help people participate to the maximum degree possible, in decisions affecting their care.
Older Persons Advocacy Network organisations achieve this in three ways. Through:
Nine State and Territory based organisations form the Older Persons Advocacy Network. Older Persons Advocacy Network services are funded by the Australian Government’s, National Aged Care Advocacy Program (NACAP), providing a national voice for aged care advocacy.
The Network organisations provide support each year to over 70,000 people.
