Please contribute to a survey on supporting people living with dementia to make decisions.
Most people require support for making decisions at some point in their life. For people with cognitive and/or communication impairments such as those experienced by many people living with dementia, the need for support to make and communicate decisions may be higher.
Ensuring people have the support they need to engage in decision making is central to Australia’s obligations under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
By responding to this survey, you will help us gain an understanding of the knowledge, needs and expectations relating to supported decision making for people living with dementia. This will contribute to future work promoting the human rights of people living with dementia.
We are seeking the views of all people living with dementia and those who support them in making decisions. This includes people who provide support in a paid or unpaid professional capacity and as an informal carer/supporter of a family member or friend living with dementia.
