The following services are available to provide support:
- Australian Cyber Security Hotline: This hotline provides 24/7 advice and support for individuals dealing with cyber security threats. Call them on 1300 292 371.
- Scamwatch: If older people believe they’ve been scammed, they should report it to Scamwatch and seek advice on how to proceed. Lodge a report at scamwatch.gov.au
- If an individual has donated to the scam, they should contact their bank immediately to report it. They should monitor their accounts for suspicious activity, and if needed, notify a family member or trusted supporter.
