Webinar | Statement of Rights

Date: Wednesday 26 March 2025
Time: 1 – 2 pm AEDT

Save the date for our webinar on 26 March 2025, when we will discuss the Statement of Rights as part of an ongoing series to help you understand the changes under the new Aged Care Act. The Statement of Rights is an important part of the new Act explaining what rights older people have when accessing aged care services.

We will work through what the Statement of Rights means for you and how it gives you the right to:

  • make decisions about your life
  • have your decisions not just accepted, but respected
  • get information and support to help you make decisions
  • communicate your wishes, needs and preferences
  • feel safe and respected
  • have your culture and identity respected
  • stay connected with your community.

Panel:

  • Daniella Greenwood, Consultant Aged Care
  • Anne Burgess, Chair, Council of Elders
  • Rebecca Kok, Manager, Aged Care Advocacy, ADA Australia

Time:

  • ACT, NSW, VIC, TAS: 1 pm
  • SA: 12.30 pm
  • QLD: 12 pm
  • NT: 11:30 am
  • WA: 10am

You are encouraged to submit questions in advance, during registration. We will answer as many as we can. If we don’t get to your question, or if your question relates to a specific issue or complaint, you can call our Aged Care Advocacy Line 1800 700 600.

Please note: the webinar will be recorded and a replay link will be sent to attendees after the event.
