Webinar – Statement of Rights

Click on the ‘CC’ button to turn on captions.

Join us to discuss the Statement of Rights as part of an ongoing series to help you understand the changes under the new Aged Care Act. The Statement of Rights is an important part of the new Act explaining what rights older people have when accessing aged care services.

We work through what the Statement of Rights means for you and how it gives you the right to:

  • make decisions about your life
  • have your decisions not just accepted, but respected
  • get information and support to help you make decisions
  • communicate your wishes, needs and preferences
  • feel safe and respected
  • have your culture and identity respected
  • stay connected with your community.

Panellists include:

  • Daniella Greenwood, Consultant Aged Care
  • Anne Burgess, Chair, Council of Elders
  • Rebecca Kok, Manager, Aged Care Advocacy, ADA Australia

Hosted by Craig Gear
